The Workshop will be organized by the School of Management in cooperation with the Information Technology Institute at St.Petersburg State University, Russia.
The purpose of the Workshop is to provide a forum for participants from academia, government, and industry involved in research and practice in the area of business processes transformation based on advanced information technology. The invited lectures and contributed presentations are expected to cover a wide range of topics from managerial aspects of the development and implementation of new business models to recent advances in related information technology. Conference presentations in the case study format are solicited.
The First Workshop on New Models of Business was held June 28-29, 2001, in St.Petersburg. It was organized by the School of Management at St.Petersburg State University in cooperation with the Institute of Management, Innovation, and Organization at W.Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley.
St.Petersburg, the Northern Capital of Russia, is especially attractive in the season of White Nights . With its famous palaces and parks, squares and monuments, rivers and bridges, St.Petersburg offers a wealth of exciting places to go and sights to see. Among them are buildings and monuments of great historical interest, such as the Peter and Paul Fortress, St.Isaac Cathedral, and Menshikov Palace. St.Petersburg has a rich and varied cultural scene: theatre, ballet, opera, genuine Russian circus, classical and rock concerts. About 100 museums covering every imaginable field - art, literature, ethnographics, military history and music, include the Hermitage that is one of the largest and richest art museums in the world, and the Russian Museum with its 300000 pieces of Russian art from the 12th century to the present day.

The manuscripts submitted must be in English. The authors should use MS Word for typesetting the manuscript. Please avoid using many customized (user-defined) formatting styles. If your paper needs additional formatting, use standard MS Word styles.
The paper should contain not more than 8 pages, and include: Title, Authors Names, Affiliation, Abstract with at most 5 keywords, and References. Please use the footnote to indicate authors' postal addresses, e-mail and URL, and acknowledgments.
Please use A4 (210 x 297 mm) format with the margins of 5 cm from top and bottom, and 3.3 cm from left and right. Use Times New Roman, 11 pt, as the font for the main text, with single line spacing within paragraphs, and spacing of 3 pt before and after paragraphs. The text should be justified. Do not use paragraph indentation.
All headings should be left justified. The first letter of each word with more than 3 characters in the title and headings should be typed in capital.
Pictures and graphs should be embedded into the MS Word document, and centered between margins. Do not wrap text around pictures or tables. Since the manuscripts will be reproduced in black and white, please use only gray-scaled color schemes for pictures, graphs and tables.
The figures and tables should be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals. Related captions should be placed at the bottom of the figures and tables, centered between margins. Please use the standard MS Word caption and reference formats.
Please use MS Equation when typesetting both equations and mathematical symbols within the text. The equations should be centered. Numbering of equations is at the right margin.
Reference in the text to an author (surname of the author, year of publication, pages eventually). Examples: (Smith, 1999) and (Baker et al, 1990). More than one references: (Smith, 1999, 2000; Baker, 2000).

The Workshop will be held at the recently renovated Building of the School of Management, at Volhovsky Lane, 3. It is situated in the historical centre of the city, close to the Main University Building.
The registration desk will be open between 9 am and 10 am on Wednesday, June 26, 2002. The conference days will be June 26-28 with Saturday, June 29, alloted to a social program.
The Workshop Program will include both plenary and contributed sessions. Each plenary lecture will be 45 minutes long with additional 15 minutes for questions and discussion, whereas contributed presentation will be 20 minutes long with 10 minutes for questions and discussion. Both multimedia and overhead projectors will be available at the sessions.

The foreign participants and accompanying persons should have visa for staying in the Russian Federation during the conference. To apply for visa, they have to present a formal invitaion to Russian Consulates.
In order to provide the participants and accompanying persons with the formal invitations, the organizers need a copy of the first page of their international passports (i.e., that page which contains name, passport number, and photo).
Therefore, we kindly ask the participants eitherAccommodation for the participants and accompanying persons will be arranged in the hotel "Moscow" by its affiliated travel agency "MMTours". The hotel is located in the center of city, not far from the conference location. The price level is about $75-$99 per night for a single room, and $90-$140 for a double room.
In order to make their room reservation, participants are asked to contact the travel agency directly by fax or e-mail. The agency accepts payments with credit cards.
The agency offers a variety of opportunities for tourists, including bus and boat trips, excursions, concerts, and theatres. It can also make reservations at other hotels upon request.
Please take note that summer in St.Petersburg is a popular time for tourists, so it is strongly recommended to make reservations as soon as possible.
